Silence is a crime!

Here is an insider's perspective into "honor killings" in Palestine and how they are related to incest and abuse by Kawther Salam, a Palestinian refugee in Austria. She mentions 7 familiar cases, out of many more, in which girls and women from her school, neighborhood, or city were murdered by fathers and brothers, for the wrong reason, or for no reason.

It's time to break the silence about incest and domestic violence. Silence is no less of a crime than the shameful acts themselves or the so-called "honor killings" that often cover-up those shameful acts. It's enraging to know that
More than 50 percent of the victims who were examined and found to be not virgin could only have lost their virginity because of sexual abuse by their own relatives, who then murdered them to cover up their shameful deeds.
